Politically Active Pagans of the Southern Tier
We are leftist/progressive pagans who live in Binghamton and surrounding Broome County, NY, striving to make a difference in our community.
What We Do
We are against fascism of all stripes.
We will oppose fascism even if it comes from our "side" or party.
We embody the values of anti-oppression and mutual aid in our community. We tend to our community's needs and preserve it's frith (peace, safety, and security).Our community has a soul, and as such, we recognize and care for its parts:
Hamr (appearance)
Hugr (collective mind)
Hamingja (inherited luck)
Orlog (our individual actions and how they affect our world)
Óðr (creative passion)Just to name a few.So how will we do this?
Speak out against government censorship (e.g., book bans)
Ensure that everyone has what they need for survival (food, shelter, money, basic hygiene supplies)
We speak out against government sanctioned violence (e.g., police brutality) committed within our community
We fight against the criminalization of homelessness and provide what we can for those in need.
We utilize harm reduction vs punitive measures to help those in need.
We cooperate with other organizations towards these ends and speak out against those who try to stand in our way.
We fight biases in our personal lives and relationships that would undermine our personal wyrd (destiny) and that of our community.
We believe that oppressive societal systems such as racism, sexism, ableism, cissexism/cisnormativity, white supremacy, and the kyriarchy, and institutions, parties, and politicians that seek to uphold these, should be demolished and deplatformed.
We stand against eugenics and value all members of our community, including the sick and the old.We utilize both mundane praxis and spellwork to achieve these aims.
